Our flock is a mixture of Marans, Speckled, Light Sussex, Black Rock, and Browns. Their eggs range in colour from dark brown through to white. They have about half an acre of grass paddock to graze in and are also fed on organic layers pellets. The paddock has a huge old hawthorn tree for shelter. We recently planted two apple trees in their paddock and are developing a herb area for them. This includes wormwood which they use as a natural worm treatment as they need it.

They have a raised hut for roosting and laying in. Access is via a ladder which gives them great protection from any predators but did take a few days for them to learn how to use it!
